Bernard Goldberg (b. 1945) is an American author, journalist, and political commentator. He spent 28 years at CBS News (1972–2000), ten years as a Fox News contributor (2009–2018), and over two decades as a correspondent for HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel (1999–2021).
He is best known for his critiques of U.S. media bias, beginning with his 2001 bestseller Bias: A CBS Insider Exposes How the Media Distort the News, followed by several other politically charged books. Though once identifying as an “old-fashioned liberal,” Goldberg later embraced the label “conservative with libertarian tendencies.” He has criticized Presidents Obama, Trump, and Biden.
Goldberg has received 14 Emmy Awards and three Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards, recognized for investigative reporting on issues such as NFL concussions, corruption in the International Olympic Committee, and child exploitation in the Middle East.
Born in New York City, he graduated from Rutgers University in 1967 and is of Jewish descent.
