Ransom Riggs

Ransom Riggs (b. Feb 3, 1979) is an American author and filmmaker, best known for the bestseller 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children,' adapted into a 2016 film.

Born in Maryland on a historic farm and raised in Florida, Riggs studied English at Kenyon College and film at USC. His early work includes short films and writing the 'Sherlock Holmes Handbook.' Inspired by vintage photographs, he published 'Talking Pictures' and launched the popular Miss Peregrine series, including 'Hollow City' (2014), 'Library of Souls' (2015), 'Tales of the Peculiar' (2016), 'A Map of Days' (2018), 'The Conference of the Birds' (2020), and 'The Desolations of Devil's Acre' (2021).

Riggs married author Tahereh Mafi in 2013; they reside in California with their daughter, Layla.
