Makoto Ojiro is a renowned Japanese manga artist from Saitama Prefecture, celebrated for her popular manga series "Insomniacs After School."
She began her career as an assistant to established manga artist Masashi Asaki at age 19 and made her professional debut in Weekly Young Magazine in 2006.
Ojiro received the prestigious 2016 Bros Comic Award for her acclaimed work "Neko no Otera no Chion-san."
In 2024, she organized a special charity event in Nanao to support the city following the devastating 2024 Noto earthquake. Partnering with publisher Shogakukan, proceeds from the sales of "Insomniacs After School," set in Nanao, will be donated to the city's relief efforts from April 16, 2024, to April 15, 2025.
