Jung H. Pak

Jung H. Pak is a prominent American historian and diplomat specializing in North Korea. She served as the U.S. Special Representative for North Korea during the Biden administration from 2023 to 2024, playing a key role in U.S.-North Korea relations.

Dr. Pak is a distinguished expert in Korea Studies with extensive experience in policy analysis and intelligence. She previously held the prestigious SK-Korea Foundation Chair in Korea Studies at the Brookings Institution and served as a Senior Fellow at its Center for East Asia Policy Studies.

Prior to her academic tenure, she worked as a Portfolio Manager at the Central Intelligence Agency's East Asia & Pacific Mission Center. Dr. Pak holds a PhD in U.S. history from Columbia University and a BA in history, magna cum laude, from Colgate University, where she also received an honorary doctorate and served on the board of trustees.
